The project aims to advance our knowledge of how children, young adults, and older adults make decisions. For example, can children or older adults make use of the same strategies as younger adults or are they differently constrained by memory or attentional limitations? How do age-related changes in motivational factors, such as risk preferences and mood, influence health, financial, or social decisions across the life span?

We will use a combination of data collection methods, including laboratory tasks, web surveys, and experience sampling with portable computerized devices, to assess the cognitive and emotional processes underlying decision-making in both the laboratory and the real-world.
