About the Department
The Department of Psychology, founded in 2003, is the seventh Faculty of the University of Basle.
Its establishment as a separate Department not only strengthens the experimental-empirical and behavioral sciences focus of psychology at Basle University but also creates an environment that does justice to the steadily increasing number of students.
The Psychology Department has experienced growth above the University of Basle's average and at present has approximately 800 students in Bachelor and Master programs, as well as an increasing number of postgraduate students.
